Varanasi is the most beautiful and holy place to visit, its my hometown and I hope I might be able to help in exploring Varanasi in more traditional way.
1-First iconic to visit is Kashi Vishwanath Temple, this place attracts tourists from all over the world.
2- Ghats - My most favorite place of Varanasi, here in morning and in evening you can enjoy the scenic Ganga Aarti and you will find lots of crowd gathering there. try to view aarti from the boat, you will enjoy the mesmerizing view of the whole place. 3- Foods- Probably one of the best city to enjoy the streets foods and I recommend to must try Lassi near Kashi temple, its really delicious.
4- Sarnath - Around 10 Km from Varanasi, a UNESCO world heritage site, its good place for day outing, for photographer and traditional Varanasi Saree.
4 - Stay - There are many hostels near Ghats ,which are affordable and with good view. Some of the hotels are expensive too depending on your requirements.
I hope this would help you to know Varanasi more.

I personally cannot really compare between the two, but having stayed at GoStops MacLeod I can assure you it was a really good property to stay at. Very light on the pocket, with clean rooms and clean sheets and very hygienic, tasty food options. The view from the front terrace is worth waking up to, and just perfect for spending a peaceful evening. Location wise, it's a bit of a climb up a slope, but quite manageable. All in all, would definitely recommend!
With the coming of the month of April in your calendar summer sets in the lives of the people of Ladakh. This month also marks the beginning of the tourists’ seasons and people flock here in great numbers.
The temperature is Maximum 15° C, Minimum -1° C at this time. During April heavy snowfall stops and the summertime takes over this whole place. One can see all the tourist places, hotels, homestays, and guest are welcomed with opened hands.
If you are visiting Ladakh during this time then opt for flights as all the roads and the passes do not open at this time. The weather, however, is still not sunny and warm as the usual summers. By late April, the lakes Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri start to melt, revealing the excellent hues and spectacular sights. During this time Leh has very beautiful weather with a clear sky but it is advisable to wear warm clothes for the adventure junkies as the sun can be a bit more dangerous during this time.
