Hi, SwapnPrit! Although it's completely your prerogative to finalise whether you'd like to stay in a houseboat or at a resort in Alleppey, houseboat stays may just be a different experience. You can always go back to staying at any resort elsewhere, but staying in a houseboat in the backwaters of Kerala might allow you to soak in the traditional vibe of the place while enjoying gorgeous sunset and sunrise views.
But again, it completely depends on what you wish to experience, who you travelling with, and various other factors.
You can also check out the following link to know about the best available houseboats and resorts in Alleppey: https://www.tripoto.com/hotels?location_name=Alleppey&embed=collections&checkin=2019-12-13&checkout=2019-12-15&guests=1
In Allepey , Houseboats are the best choice In kumarakom, try both house boats and resorts facing lake view... If you are not on budget, Try kumarakom lake resorts👍
Hi, Backbenchideas!
The average cost of campstays in Lonavala during the New Year for 9 people may be around ₹12,000 - ₹14,000. However, you may check a few other options on the internet or offline.
Yes they do not allow solo permits. You may get in touch with an agent however, who can club you with other group for the permit. If you are worried about the costs for booking an agent (as they will offer you an entire package), just ask them to book the hotels for you, which you can choose online and let them know. Permit and immigration will be taken care by them. Alternatively: If you are entering by road (the Phuentsholing border), stay overnight in Phuentsholing (doesn't need a permit). Ask the hotel authorities to help you out or go to the immigration and find your own group, with similar itinerary to club with for immigration purpose.
Hi, Jagdish! The most common way of reaching Lakhamandal, which is about 100 kms from Chakata, is by road. You can arrive at Mussoorie and then hire a taxi, wait for shared cab, or a bus to reach Lakhamandal. A taxi, however, is the most comfortable means of transport for those travelling to Lakhamandal from Chakrata.

Terund Treak can be best enjoyed if you stay at Tirund over night and witness the Sunrise. It takes about 4 hours of treaking from Mcleodganj to cover about 9 kms of distance. So I would suggest the following itinerary. Day 1. Arrival at Mcleodganj and leave for terund treak overnight stay there. Day 2. Return to Mcleodganj and discover local cafes at Mcleodganj. Day 3. Dalai Lama Temple, Bhagsu Fall, Dal Lake, Naddi view point and in evening enjoy Night Life at Mcleodganj. Day 4. Explore Dharmsala city and visit Dharmsala Cricket Stadium and Kangra Fort. Day.5 Kareri River Treak.
Hey Sandeep, I too did my first solo trip this year to Triund and it was a wonderful experience. In my suggestion 5 days is too much for Mcleodganj as you'll be able to cover all the tourist places along with the trek in max 3 days. On my first day i arrived in morning in Mcleod and stayed at the Zostel. After breakfast i went to Bhagsu Nath waterfall Shiva cafe and explored the mainsquare market and the monastery. After lunch at the mainsquare returned back to the Zostel. Then in the evening went to the sunset view point, and in the night played cards and sang songs with the fellow members at the zostel. Next day after breakfast started with my trek. I was lucky as it had snowed just few days ago so even experienced what its to trek in snow. Camping was closed at the time so had to descend the same day. Spent the rest of the day making friends in the zostel. Next day i explored the markets and visited 2 really famous cafes, Common Ground and Iliterati. Do visit them. I had my bus for evening so returned back to Delhi the next morning. Just one thing, go unplanned and you'll enjoy the most!!
Hi, Talukdar Anuja! The most common way to reach Lumbini in Nepal from Bodhgaya in India is to reach Gorakhpur by train, and then take a bus to Sunauli, from where you can either wait for the buses or get a cab to reach Lumbini, which is only 30 kms. The total one-way fare may be approximately ₹1,500- ₹2,500. But it's recommended that you double check the same yourself before trusting these numbers as the fares keep changing.
