As you have a weekend to visit this hill station here is the itinerary you can follow :- Day 1 :- Visit Mullayanagri, Datta peetha, Baba budangiri, Manikyadhaara falls, Kallathgiri falls .. Day 2 :- Kemmanugundi, Hebbe falls, Z point, Coffee museum in Chickmagalur town centre, Sringeri Sharada peetha .... You can cover these Places on your ride to Chikmagalur ... Chikmagalur is a great option, you will experience a lot of wildlife and natural beauty. It is a great option for a single ride as well. You can get lost in the arms of nature. I have attached a couple of posts that will help you plan your itinerary. You can go through them and plan your trip. I'm not sure if there are any hostels in this area but you can find budget homestays.

Hi Allan, Solo trip to Chikamagalur is definitely doable! The roads are good, and the people there, even better. You can visit 1. Mullayangiri
