Very good idea , to visit Amritsar. Amritsar is a place which cantains each and everything in one place I. e. tasty food, heritage, culture and struggle for freedom from British Empire.
you must visit here waga border, flag retreat, golden temple and jaliawala bag and explore many many more places near by.
you can stay at gurdwara rest house at very nominal charges.
