Triund Trek, an awesome place to relax your mind and soul.

I was at my girlfriend's house in Kangra, traveling all the way from Delhi with the company of my childhood friend. We travelled to Mcleodganj via bus from Kangra. After reaching the spot since it was November the weather was constantly changing. People told us the weather could go bad that day but I was determined and mentally prepared to complete the trek and I didn't want to listen to anyone. I went against the odds and I told my friend we will do this. My friends believed in me and we booked a cab from Mcleodganj to Triund Trek starting point. After reaching there we had breakfast. My girlfriend insisted to complete the trek with me even though she had a cast on her leg. You guys would be amazed, she completed the whole trek without any problem. It took us around 6-7 hours to complete the trek. We worked together as a group and constantly supported my girlfriend throughout the trek. We reached the camps at 10p.m. we met a group there and spent a fun night at the top with them. At night the top was filled with clouds. We were in our tents when we realised it was maybe raining outside but we also thought it could be snow. You won't believe, the next morning we woke up at 4 a.m and landed our feet in snow and the view had us. At that moment we realised that we had earned it after all the hard work we did during the trek. This was the first trek for all of us. Nobody in our group had trekked before. At 6-7 am the sun came up and the snow started slowly melting. It was heaven. The top was filled with big dogs staying there at the base camps being looked after the locals. We were exhausted from last night but after waking upto this view, we forgot everything and lived in the present. At 9 a.m we decided to head back to Mcleodganj so we trekked back and hired a cab once we got at the starting point of the trek. There were a lot of taxis waiting to host us, not to mention the people were really friendly and helpful there. When we trekked back was a but more difficult as the snow had started melting and we didn't have proper boots for ice and the ice had started melting meaning the rocks had become really slippery so we had to be really cautious while descending. Thankfully without any problem we got back home with beautiful memories. Its a trek you can complete with your children, family and friends. The camping experience was great we had a plate full of rajma chawal at the top for 150 INR. I couldn't complain about the taste because at that point of time everything felt great going in my stomach. We booked out tents at the starting point of the trek. The cost was 600-700 INR per tent. This sums up my trek and I hope you enjoy Triund Trek if it's your first time. The trek is for beginners and the view from the top is amazing. The trek is approximately 9 kilometres. You won't be lost as the trail is really easy to follow. You won't regret taking this trip. Finally, all of us took a bus from Kangra to Delhi and told our parents the whole trip and encouraged them to take this adventure!
