From white sandy beaches to cultural museums, Ibiza, Spain, is a must-visit site for all families. And here’s why.
Ibiza has always been known to be a party island, but upon more exploration Ibiza has proven to be the perfect destination for families - even ours. Traveling as a family of adults can be very tricky. Two boys in their early 20’s, and a set of parents with contrasting ideas of “fun”, often result in replanning an itinerary. But with many diverse activities, Ibiza has become our favorite spot to visit.
Upon arriving, it was clear that the area is known for its nightlife. However, Charlie’s Bar is a perfect midway between clubbing and a quiet night in the hotel. Live music makes for a lively atmosphere, while the table seating offers a more relaxed feel. It was a great way to jump start our stay.
We opted to visit the contemporary art museum on a day out. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that can only be found in Ibiza. The amazing exhibitions and staff have offered us a look into the local and international talent alike.
The crystal-clear water and scenic beaches are the perfect backdrop to all the adventurous activities on offer, so it made sense what our next stop should be. We hopped on a boat tour to the island of Formentera, where we were able to soak in all the beauty with a cultural guide. However, it wasn’t long before we headed off to extreme water activities, like parasailing and cave snorkeling. We were all able to participate in the water activities that made for incredible family memories.
The cobbled roads are surrounded by restaurants and cafés that serve up only local, fresh cuisine. After the daily argument over where we should dine, the winner would lead the family to their favorite spot. By the end of the trip, we’ve become spoiled for choice.
The best way to experience these amazing streets is through Vespa rentals. The area is quite easy to navigate and you get to see local spots that tourists often miss. Make sure to grab sunscreen from the hotel before you head out!
From great nightlife for young adults, to spas and beach strolls, it is clear to see why Ibiza is one of the world’s most loved destinations - worth more than just the couple of days we’ve spent!
