Bali offers spectacular sunsets against the horizon, painting the skyline a myriad of orange, yellow, pink and purple. Although there are many spots for catching a gorgeous sunset, Uluwatu is our favorite. On the edge of a cliff 825 feet high Uluwatu is a traditional Balinese temple that faces the mighty Indian Ocean. The view of the sunset from here is truly breathtaking.

Also, do not miss the Balinese performance – The Kecek Dance – which starts around sunset and uses the view as a backdrop for the portrayal of a traditional tale.

2. Ride A Volcano

It is a thrilling feeling to reach at the top of a volcanic mountain and witness the azure blue ocean. If you like trekking then hiking one of Bali’s volcanoes is a must do for you. You can’t get closer to heaven. There are four volcanoes in Bali: Mount Agung, Mount Batur, Bratan, and Mount Merbuk. All of them are active, yes Active! You must take a guide along. Our top pick is Mount Batur. Its top can be reached within a 2-hours hike.

3. Do Some Soul Searching In The Temples of Bali

There are more than thousand Hindu temples in Bali, each one completely different from India. The most remarkable of them are Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, Saraswati, Bedugul and most sacred of them all, Besakih temple. Dress modest and cover your knees and shoulders when visiting the temples.

4. Catch Some Waves And Learn Surfing

Bali offers world-class surfing spots to adventure junkies. The waves in Kuta are ideal for beginners, as they smash over soft sand and not corals. Have a walk at the beach and you can find local guides who can teach you how to surf within no time. Uluwatu, Canggu and Nusa Dua are great spots for advanced surfers.

Bali has some incredible water sport options for travelers. If you are looking for some boat-towed action, high altitudes, and splashing wind-in-hair moments then Tanjung Benoa is the right place for you. A variety of professionally operated water sport activities take place here ranging from some underwater delights like sea walking, snorkeling, scuba diving to some fast paced windy ones like jet skiing, parasailing, fish flying and fly boarding.

6. Dig In Some Fresh Sea Food At Jimbaran

Jimabaran beach offers the most delicious seafood in Bali. Served at beach side restaurants with tables set up right on sand, sea food is cooked live at the kitchen counters in traditional Balinese style. Try a sea food platter if you want to explore the seafood of Bali in all its glory: Grilled fish, crab, lobster, prawns, squids and shrimps served with local spicy sauces.

Bali’s nightlife caters to a wide range of crowds, styles and budgets. Beach clubs to night clubs to live DJ’s, rooftop bars, theater shows, or simply an easygoing sunset dinner cruise, there are plenty of options for life after dark in Bali. Kuta, Legian and Seminyak are the epicenter of nightlife in Bali with numerous bars, pubs and nightclubs along the streets.
