I've pen down the budget friendly South Goa trip that will guide you through the pictorial palolem beach with an option to go for butterfly island tour, Ancestral Goa (Big Foot), Casa Araujo Alvares - a vintage mansion., beaches that people from around the world would love to enjoy - colva, Dona Paula and Miramar known for the bustling tourists throughout the year.

In this post I will provide all the necessary information like the timings, entry fee, how to reach and best time to visit to these Tourist attractions in South Goa.

Location 1: Casa Araujo Alvares

Timings: 9am to 5:30pm

Entry fee: 100 INR

An ancient Portuguese Mansion that has collection of photographs, paintings and antiques back then.

Build in 18th century by Eufemiano Araujo Alvares a prominent lawyer during the colonial period, this 250 year old mansion belongs to Alvares family in loutolim Goa. This historical Portuguese house has a chapel inside it and the European Made antiques are preserved as it were centuries ago. Visitors can hear the history of this place by an audio guide. Best time to visit is throughout the year. A few scenes from the famous Bollywood movie "Singam" starring Ajay Devgan were shot here making it another reason to your to-do list.

PS. Visit early hours as soon as it starts to avoid waiting.

Location 2: Ancestral Goa (Big Foot)

Timings: 9:30AM to 5:30PM

Entry fee: 100 INR

Camera: 20 INR

Located adjacent to Casa Araujo Alvares mansion is the ancestral Goa open museum that depicts the Goan rural lifestyle back in centuries in a pictorial way. Audio guides are made available to visitors who get to hear the history of this place as well as some interesting facts about the rural goan people in past. It has many places inside such as Handicraft center, Big Foot Dance floor, A restaurant, a spring by the name Boca da vaca, a bird habitat, a spice yard and others. Inside is a huge 14meter sculpture of Mirabai carved in a shot span of 30days and holds the record for being the longest laterite sculpture in India by the Limca book of records. Best time is visit is throughout the year.

Location 3: Palolem Beach

Entry fee: zero

Best time to visit - winters and monsoons

This beautiful pictorial beach is located at a distance from commercial side of Goa and has a separate fan base of people wanted to visit. It offers a breathtaking views of the ocean and the beach shacks with colorful huts makes a perfect blend for your social media feeds. One can do the kayaking in this calm beach and go for a boat ride for dolphins sighting or to unexplored butterfly beach and enjoy the offbeat experience.

Location 4: Colva Beach

Best time to visit: Monsoons and Winters

Located near to the Margoa city, colva beach is a must visit places in South Goa for it's beautiful waters. Various water activities like jet skiing, banana ride, para-sailing etc can be experienced here and it's a perfect location for a family outing. One can enjoy the cool breeze and sounds of the waves in the evening making it an experience to cherish for lifetime.

Location 5: Dona Paula Beach

Best time to visit: Throughout the year

The majestic views of the ocean on one side, the sounds of the waves on other side makes this a perfect hangout place during sunset. Don't forget to take back some memories with you and tags for your instagram stories. One can enjoy the cool breeze while the sun is setting down at the golden hour making it an experience of a lifetime. Location 6: Miramar Beach

Best time to visit: throughout the year

The Goa trip would be incomplete if you don't consider visiting this in South Goa. Located in the heart of panjim city, Miramar Beach is a local beach and offers some peaceful time in the evening. You can call it a day by just relaxing in this serene beach by watching the post sunset landscapes that it offers.

How to visit Goa:

1. By Train :- Goa is well connected to major cities in India like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Reach Margao or Vasco da gama Railway Station and take a bus or taxi or even rental bike and drive to South Goa destinations.

2. By Road :- Reach Margao or Panjim Central Bus stand and take a bus/taxi/rental bike to reach south Goa tourist attractions.

3. By Air:- The International Airport of Goa in Dabolim is easiest way to reach Goa from domestic or International cities. Once you touch down at the Goa Airport either take a Bus/Taxi to panjim/margoa and follow point 1/2.
