Pocharam Dam is located nearly 120 km from Hyderabad in Medak dist. he dam was built between 1916-1922 over Allair, a tributary of the River Manjeera. The island located in the center of the reservoir is home to various species of shrubs. Boats are available near the reservoir for reaching the island. The reservoir serves as a storage point on the Allair River and is also a favorite picnic spot for travelers who thoroughly enjoy fishing at this reservoir. Medak can be reached by NH7 highway from Hyderabad within two hours. You can camp at this spot, and best suitable to chill and hangout at this place.
Best getaway from hyderabad, you can ride by car or bike. I have travelled through my Harley Davidson Iron 883. To reach there are 2 ways to go
1. Through Highway Hyderabad- Nagpur Highway
2. Through Narsapur Forest
I have traveled through Narsapur Forest as shown in the image below. The road is amazing, i doesn't make you feel tired or bored with the view, you'll be left with surprise with breathtaking fresh air, green lush trees and road with full of deep curves. Must recomended for bikers. Get it on your to-visit lists.
Must recommended by taking Narsapur highway, google show through Medchal and Ramayapet. Add stops like i have mentioned in picture 1st point Kompally 2nd point Gandi Maisamma
I have started on 13th June 2020, early in morning with my buddy at 7:00 am in the morning, It took us around 2 hrs to 2 hrs 15 mins. road was great no bumps and perfect conditions to ride, it took me by surprise by view that i have experienced. After reaching the location 1.5-2 km was bit rough as the road towards dam is bit off-road, you have to go through muddy roads.
