Zanskar Valley is located in the Kargil region, about 105 kilometres to the east of Ladakh. Zanskar mountain range is a component of the Tethys Himalayas and is separated from Ladakh by Zangskar.” Due to the scenery, which is said to be “raw” in this region, Zanskar is famous for hiking and river rafting.

Aside from snow-capped mountains on each side, the semi-desert terrain is home to several species of flora and wildlife, as well as different ecosystems. The quickest route to go to Zanskar is by Suru Valley, which connects to Kargil. Unfortunately, snowfall in the region has blocked it off from the rest of the world for almost nine months of the year. As a result, Zanskar is only accessible between December and February since the Chadar Trek, a demanding four-day hike, is the only route.
