exploring the roads in the castle

Starting our journey from Ranchi, I knew we are moving to a place which would be close to nature, to see the real jungle and hills and beautiful sky. It has to be a rural setting and I knew it’s not gonna be the snow covered hills or cloud studded mountains or the lush green deodar trees of the vast ocean. But I must say the nature is at its best at every corner of the world, every hill has its uniqueness and every soil has a different colour. Nature has its colour which is not found in the set of crayons and I witnessed that.

Even the dark clouds couldn't hide the beauty of the sun and trees

From singhbhum to keonjhar plateau it was an 8 hours journey by night we reached the hotel all tired and sleepy. Had a good sleep at night as the next day has to be a day to start off with our work. I’m writing not as a traveller but as a nature lover. The next day as we left to visit the villages in the district, I was ready to expect the unexpected, with different place, unknown people, and unique lifestyle. As we moved to Gonasika hills I just found the trees here are as beautiful as any of the hill stations. The mountains are full of wild bushes and huge trees naming them: teak, mango, kusum and so many unknown trees and flowers.

These colourful trees

As we moved in from Gonasika the roads were about to end, the colour of the hills started revealing, it was red soil and for the first time I realised that red soil is such a beauty. Various trees few had shredded their leaves, few had the new bright leaves, some had blooming flowers and few were full of dark green leaves. You don’t know the nature would display its glorious chapters.

Well it was only the beginning as we went on we found the roads really less travelled as the bushes had grown and roads in non-existing form. It was only the beginning as we approached the village I found kids hiding around and peeping from the corners of the huts and few hiding behind their mother. I loved the simplicity; they lived in the lap of the pristine nature taking from the nature enjoying their life with all that nature has to offer them. Those huts that they had made by themselves, they love it, they stay together helping each other.

these innocent eyes

Next day, yet another village to explore and yet another road less travelled and yet another long journey. We reached to the point where we had to get down of the AC cars, get a good strong stick and start walking. What a pleasant walk we had, these were the roads untold and unheard. As we walked up and down the hills we could hear the chirping birds, whispering wind, rustling of the leaves and flowing water. It just touched our heart when we walked in unknown of how the destination would be. By this time we knew these are not simply the villages but it’s that untouched part of nature and humans, being one as ever.

the unspoken beauty

Yes these are the roads less travelled… paths unmeasured

Stories unheard...

Beauty unseen...

Palaces nearly vanished...

Mountains un-named...
