Tips and Recommendations

Here are some tips and recommendations on how to make the most of your visit to Chillva Market Phuket:

- The best time to visit the market is on Friday and Saturday nights, when the market is at its busiest and most lively. You can enjoy the full range of shops, stalls, bars, and restaurants, as well as the live music and entertainment. However, if you prefer a quieter and less crowded experience, you can visit the market on weekdays, when the market is still open but with fewer vendors and visitors.

- The market is easily accessible by car, taxi, or bus from various parts of the island. You can also rent a motorbike or a bicycle and explore the nearby areas, such as the old town, the Naka Temple, and the Tesco Lotus. There is a parking lot near the market, where you can park your vehicle for a small fee. You can also find some tuk-tuks and songthaews outside the market, if you need a ride back to your hotel or another destination.

- The market is a great place to shop for some souvenirs and gifts, as you can find some unique and local products that are not available elsewhere. You can also bargain and negotiate with the vendors, as they are usually friendly and flexible. However, be respectful and polite, and do not offer too low or too high prices. You can also ask for a discount if you buy more than one item or pay in cash.

- The market is a safe and family-friendly place, as there is a security guard and a CCTV camera at the entrance, and the vendors and visitors are mostly locals and tourists. However, you should still be careful and vigilant, as there might be some pickpockets or scammers in the crowd. You should also keep an eye on your belongings and children, and avoid any suspicious or shady people or places.

Chillva Market Reviews

5PM:It is always fun to visit local markets and discover local flavors and traditions first hand. Phuket is the major tourist hotspot and naturally, there are several markets to visit. However, if you were spending just a day in Phuket and have to pick one, I would recommend the Chillva Market. This market comes to life around sunset and one could easily walk around for a couple of hours, and still not get done shopping for souvenirs and clothes. Don’t worry if you’re not into shopping, the area is also famous for its buzzing atmosphere and unique dining scene. It has been a while but I am still not over all the delicious treats I had the chance to try right off the streets!
