DAY 2The next morning we expected a fairly average ‘included breakfast’ and instead walked into a choice of not only Balinese and European foods but to top it off, an ‘egg station’ where you could request your preferred style. Seriously, if you are a food lover – highly recommended!
DAY 1Albeit the rainy season my friend Ben and I decided to head to Bali for two weeks just before Christmas. Obviously you never know when the next tropical storm might roll in and we were lucky enough to have a window of perfect weather. Now I’m in England and Ben is in New Zealand and so we met at Ngurah Rai International Airport in the capital, Denpasar. One thing to note is that if any travel agencies tell you that you can’t fly from Gatwick, well it simply isn’t true and when I was searching, Emirates offered the best prices from there. Also, the prices often jump up and down, when they go up it doesn’t necessarily mean they will continue to rise so don’t believe everything you hear!
Next day we left from Kuta to Airport. We booked a taxi through Grab which costed us IDR 52,000 + 5,000 for airport parking, whereas the local taxi drivers were demanding around IDR 300,000.Entry Fee (per person)@Uluwatu temple - IDR 30,000@Kechak dance - IDR 100,000@Pura Agung Besakih temple - IDR 60,000@Tirta Empul - IDR 15,000@Ulu Danu Beratan - IDR 60,000@Goa Gajah - IDR 15,000@Tanah Lot - IDR 60,000@Sacred Monkey forest - IDR 50,000@Ubud palace - FREE!Food in BaliIf you are a pure vegetarian then you have fewer options of food in Bali compared to non-vegetarians. Also, if you don't eat egg you need to mention it while placing the order as they put egg in vegetarian food. Some of the famous dishes which you must try are Mei Goreng, Nasi Goreng, Gadu Gadu and Mangoo juice. Mei Goreng and Nasi Goreng is similar to Fried Rice and Fried Noodles, Gadu Gadu is rice with boiled vegetables and gravy. Veg food for two people costs around IDR 100,000 to 150,000 approximately.
•Arrive at the Denpasar Airport. •Check-in, Freshen up and take rest for few hours. •Since nothing works better than some liquid courage to get that ice melting, we’ll start the night with Tripsee’s signature Opening Party! •Some Booze and some Pizza will get you well started for your 10 Day Party Trip on this Island.
Day 1 – Beaches of South Bali Since Bali’s Denpasar Airport is located in the southern part of the island, it is just but practical to start touring around South Bali first. If you are traveling solo as I always do, you may opt to hire a car or a motorbike to tour around. Southern Bali includes the areas of Denpasar, Jimbaran, Kuta, Legian, Semiyak, Uluwatu, Canggu, Sanur, Tanah Lot and Nusa Dua. However, I have only been to Kuta, Legian, Semiyak, Nusa Dua and Tanah Lot.
