Next day morning we arrived for breakfast and deck was looking so spectacular with crystal clear blue water roaring around.
6. A do-nothing holidayWhen you have a 9 to 5 desk job, you treasure do-nothing holidays. In February 2016, while solo travelling in Konkan Maharashtra, I got my first taste of staycation at the Blue Ocean Resort and Spa in Ganpatipule. The resort had a private access to the Malgund beach which is one of the nicest beaches I’ve seen in Maharashtra. One morning, I spotted three dolphins jumping in the sea, while I sat by the gazebo sipping ‘sex on the beach’. At dusk, I booked myself a foot massage which was absolutely de-stressing; may be, it always is, when you can hear the sound of the waves in the background. My tropical garden view villa had bougainvilleas, chikoo and love apple plantations in the backyard. Mobile connectivity was nonexistent and I had all the time to myself to recharge before I went back to work-life monotony.
Mumbai & Pune have ample of weekend getaway options, this isn't something new but what becomes a little annoying at times is that wherever you go it's always crowded and although you get a break from the hustle bustle of the city but you can't get a break from seeing the crowded streets, hotels and that leaves you a little dissatisfied. But to our rescue in such a situation comes the Konkan beaches and one of the beach that I explored was Ganpatipule. We took an early morning train from Mumbai (Tejas Express at around 5.30 AM) and reached Ratnagiri around 2 PM. From there you can take a cab (available right outside the railway station) or even an auto as the roads are clean & green and weather is breezy. We booked Blue Ocean Resort and it turned out to be pretty great. It is well maintained and is widespread only drawback being the food variety. But we managed as it had a lot of other facilities to relish.
The distance from Ratnagiri to Ganapatipule is around 20 km (follow the coastal road), but for us, it felt like it’s the heaven, and you don’t want to be out of heaven, so we never wanted that road to end. it was pure coastal road, with land at high place. The view of the sea was so beautiful, the best road I have ever been. We see all those beautiful sceneries ..!!Upon arrival, check-in at hotel.Soon after getting into the room, we decide to have a bath and then sometime in to the beach to see awesome sunset. There is saying by Kristen Butler "Sunsets are the proof that no matter what happens, everyday can end beautiful".
Day-3:- Started the Ride refreshed & the Morning Prayers in the nearby temple were just perfect to set a calm mood. Witnessed Sunrise at Prachin Konkan Point with a mesmerizing view of are ware Beach
