It the oldest Dzong in Bhutan which is believed to have built to subdue an evil spirit. As it overlooks Thimpu valleys, it was used to protect the Thimphu valley. You will get a panoramic view of the valley from here.

This Dzong is believed to be the first Dzong in Bhutan, built in 1627. This also serves as the Institute for Language and Cultural Studies. It incorporates both Monastic and administrative facilities.
