I have been living in Gangtok, Sikkim for last 5 years but never wrote anything about this state. One fine day I thought of putting a itinerary only for all people who wish to visit this magnificent place. So here goes the itinerary:-

Day 1: Arrival | Bagdogra/NJP - Gangtok
Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and transfer to Gangtok (114kms/4.5 hrs).At an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 2: Gangtok | Tsangu lake, Baba Mandir and Nathula Pass
After breakfast proceed to Excursion trip to Tsangu lake, Baba Mandir; one day tour, evening back to Gangtok. Evening free to roam around & in M. G Marg. You may do some shopping or enjoy delicious local food. Our local representative will suggest you some good places. (Nathula tour is subject to permit availability & weather conditions)
Day 3: Gangtok local sightseeing
1. Rope way (Cable car)
2. Flower show.
3. Vanjhakri waterfalls.
4. Institute of Tibetology
5. Tashi view point.
6. Ganesh tok
7. Zoological park
8. Hanuman Tok
9. Rumtek monestry
10. Enchey monestry
11. Gonjang monestry
12. Ranka monestry
Kindly note: Covering all the above mentioned places may not be possible as it takes almost whole day. You can drop some of the places as per your choice.
Day 04: Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, pack your bags, check-out and drive to Bagdogra/NJP for your onward Journey.
Hotels:
There are some good budget hotels available in Gangtok in MG Marg and near by. One such hotel is Hotel Shree Ganpati where i stayed 2 days and last one day i stayed in Hotel Khangsar Villa. Hotels are good and safe to stay. You may contact Mr. Ranjan, owner, for your booking if you wanna stay there. His no is 9999767875. He is a good host.
Cost:
There are 2 options available. One- Personal tour which is bit expensive. It would cost you 15000 for a couple including your hotel, food and transportation.
Second option- via using sharing transportation you can save some amount. You can take sharing cab from Bagdogra/Njp to Gantok and return. You can also use sharing can on the day of Tsangu lake, baba Mandir and Nathila tour. This tour would cost you around 10000 for a couple.
Beware:
You should never book your tour from NJP/Siliguri. They shall try to convince you to book a tour by hook and crook. But just ignore them. They can charge you upto Rs. 10000 extra even for a short trip, also inconvenience you face in Sikkim is not bearable. So always book a tour from Gangtok.
