Though Canberra is the capital of Australia, thanks to the cricket craze, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth come to mind immediately with the mention of the name Australia.Canberra has a number of places to visit like the Parliament House, Australian War Memorial, Telstra Tower, Floriade, Questacon, Lake Burley Griffin (By the Way, Walter Burley Griffin was the architect of Canberra City, and its after him, the lake has been named), and the Australian Royal Mint.
Wollongong to KiamaAnother 2 and half hour road trip from Sydney to Wollongong to Kiama is not only an incredible drive but the end destinations are just as breath taking. Wollongong for the seaside town with beautiful white sand beaches, picturesque light house and do not miss the pink ice cream truck.Kiama other than for the massive water blowhole is great place to do some bird spotting and have a picnic by the stunning creek view.
Manly is another beautiful suburb of Sydney connected by ferry. We took a slow ferry around 5 p.m just to ensure we will make the return tour after sunset. It gives you the opportunity to see the harbor in light and dark. I must say the Manly beach is prettier and more serene than Bondi. From Manly we made a short walking tour to Shelly beach followed by Ben & Jerry's ice cream (yes, the name made famous by Salaam Namaste. The scene right before the song Paune 12 baje)The night view from ferry is out of the world with seagulls following the ferry to the wharf.
