Australia is one of the jewels of this world; it is a place where every traveler stops, where every backpacker treks and the adventure stories begin.

If you have the heart of a traveler, the passion for seeing the natural splendor of the world in balance with the modern skyscrapers, then Australia travel is a must to add to your bucket list.

But, travel can be pretty expensive when you have a backpacker's budget or have a big group to travel with; so, make sure when you fly, you can get cheap flight tickets for that time of the year.

Beware though, the beautiful landscapes and architecture have the power to leave you spellbound, compelling you to make the journey again and again (in severe cases, you might be tempted to stay forever.)

Sydney – the Pride of the Land

Sydney

Traveling to Australia and not see the bustling city that is Sydney should be a crime; it is the capital of the country, the pride, and joy that offers tourists with tons of activities to fill their day.

Man and woman, child or teen, can find their thrill within the city limits.

From great parks to delicious foods, there is a mix of calm & quiet of the beach plus the shrill noises of the city centers for you to enjoy.

Climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge or visit the Bondi Beach, Manly Beach or Darling Harbor; don’t forget the famous Opera House that is the jewel of the city.

There is a ton to do here from surfing to sight-seeing, walking tours or sailing across the harbor; Sydney offers a rich diversity that any traveler will enjoy.

The Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef

If you feel the desire to see the marine life, then what better way to do that then a dive in the Great Barrier Reef?

For travelers who love the waters, it offers a magnificent sight of the ocean with crystal clear water that gives you a peek into the life under the surface. Even if you don’t dive, you can take a boat out on the water and try snorkeling. Sailing over the surface or in the sky in the helicopter, the sight of the reef is a humbling experience that makes you cherish the natural wonders of the world.

It is one of the best places to visit in Australia where you can find pleasure in life underwater.

Fraser Islands

Fraser Island

A camping trip is one of the reasons to travel to Australia; Fraser Islands are one of the largest islands in the world that offers you an authentic outdoor experience.

It is accessible via the mainland, with a rustic charm that piques your love for history and natural wonders of our world.

Take an overnight trip or rent a four-wheel drive and travel to the coast for its freshwater lake (and safety from the dingoes.)

Brisbane

Brisbane

Brisbane is the business center of the country; so, while there is not a lot of the local culture for you to see, there are enough hangout spots to fit in your itinerary for when you have some downtime.

Restaurants and pubs offer excellent cuisine and nightlife experience; but, apart from a trip to the south bank, there is not a lot to do in the city. South Bank is the best stop to meet and greet new people and travelers heading north.

Melbourne

Night view of Melbourne

Melbourne is like Sydney in the way it gives you tons of activities to enjoy, but unlike Sydney, it has a more easy-going ambiance.

There are restaurants and cafes for you to mix with the locals as well as rivers, gardens, museums with the city’s art culture, and much more.

In Melbourne, you’ll find the perfect mix of modern architecture and Mother Nature, local culture and history; it is one of the best places to visit in Australia.

The Outback

The Outback, Australia

When you are going to Australia, it’s a must to experience the wild, untamed parts that are the Outback.

Vast desert lands, wildlife, crocodiles, valleys, and lakes, are what you’ll see for Australia’s natural countryside. You’ll find nature at its best without the touch of Man to hinder its beauty.

Surf the Gold Coast

Gold Coast, Australia

Australia is the land of the surfers; it’d be a shame to go there and not surf the waves over the cool water the country offers.

Gold Coast is among the best places to see on the East Coast.

It is beyond the borders of Brisbane with an expansive sandy shore, huge waves, and instructors ready to offer surfing lessons, should you want it.

Fancy a Wine

Hunter Valley

A chance to explore the vast, open, wineries is one of the reasons to visit Australia.

The Barossa Valley, Margaret River, and Hunter Valley are where you can get a sip of the Australian wine right from the source.

You can take guided tours through the city or travel solo; stay a day or two in each spot and enjoy tasting wine as much as you want.

Kakadu for the History Buffs

Kakadu National Park

Australia’s natural reserve in the northern territory has an abundance of history and diversity in species.

Wetlands and rivers, saltwater crocodiles, turtles, as well as birds of various species inhabit the land. The Kakadu National Reserve also has ancient rock paintings that can be seen at Nourlangie, Nanguluwur, and Ubirr.

Perth

Perth

On the west coast of the country, Perth is a quaint town-like city that offers just as much excitement as the two top-dogs of Australian Tourism Industry, Sydney and Melbourne.

You can enjoy Australian cultures and traditions, beaches, parks, and much more. It has more youth roaming its streets giving it a modern, electric vibe.

Final Thoughts

Among the many tourist destinations in the world, I find Australia to have a more diverse culture, sights, and the terrain.

If you want a trip that has beaches, cityscapes, as well as an abundance of history and natural landscapes, then fly to Australia for your family vacation or solo backpacking.
