In this video we are cycling into Deep Baikunthapur Forests trails in the Doars region of India.

Cycling the forest trails starts from Siliguri Salugara to wild and dense Forests of Baikunthapur Doars biking towards Gajaldoba Teesta Barrage by the Teesta River from in between tea gardens.

The complete POV Action cycling footage is shot on Go pro Hero 8 these trails are restricted unless you have the permissions for entry from the forest department and are wild and dangerous as the forest inhabits wild animals and is dense. It is advisable to prepare well before riding. Be aware of elephants.

The forest route is about 9-10kms which is easily doable and is full of awesome views.

Carry Water bottles as there are no sources of water inside the forest except the river flowing which has clean water depending on the season to season.

Entry to the forest is restricted as it is preserved and dense, you cannot enter the forest without permission from the forest department which is easy to get.

If you are cycling generally no one stops you from entering the forest, please don't carry plastic/ alcohol and maintain the cleanliness. Enter at your own risk if you are entering without permission. It is recommended to go in at least a group of two so that in case if your cycle breaks down in the middle of the forest you can reach out for help.

Baikunthapur is a part of the Terai forest region in the western part of the Doars in the south of the Himalayan foothills, having the Mahananda River on the west and Teesta River to the east. Baikunthapur is home to many wild elephants. The least disturbed areas are in the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary.

Historically it is said that Lord Krishna had found refuge in the forest at one time. Also, for this reason, ISKCON chose the nearby city Siliguri as s site for the biggest Krishna Centre in Northeast India.

The route is extremely beautiful and full of wilderness, you can spot a lot of different birds and the beauty of the forest is just amazing, if you go in spring you can find the road filled with leaves giving it an amazing cinematic look. If you are looking for adventure and exploring any offbeat places in and around Siliguri, I would recommend this route.

There are food/resturants at gajaldoba teesta barrage where you can have lunch and continue till Siliguri.
