Dolphin Sightings at Karde Beach

From hustle bustle of the city of Mumbai, roughly about 250 Kms lies a calm and unexplored beach "Karde". I heard of it from one of my acquaintance who spoke very high about it. Well, a long week end and we are all set to explore. Started from Mumbai headed towards pali (alternatively one can take vadkhal route) straight towards dapoli. Many accommodation options available in Dapoli, very few in Karde. We stayed at a place which was beautifully managed a few cottages, slightly away from the beach but excellent accommodation.

Main attraction of the trip was dolphins at karde beach, early mornings dolphins come very close to the beach and thats when one can spot them. There are boats to carry passengers to the spot and these men know where did dolphin appear in the morning. Ensure you take the FIRST boat ride as later the chances of spotting the dolphins are less because of the rattling noise of the engines of the boats makes them uncomfortable.

Other than dolphins there are variety of water sports activity conducted both at dapoli and karde, few Kms ahead drive to Harne beach is a pleasant experience.
