Mountains range, it allows us to take on two different treks. One is from Sinhagad base and other is from Kataraj . Me and my wife along with some of our friends chose to go from the base at 8:30 am ( try reaching as early as possible to see that spiced up sunrise) . The weather was flavoured with clouds and sunshine. We stopped at intervals along the trek since some of us were doing the trek for the first time and thus reached at 10:30 am to the top
No sooner we reached, we started with Mango (कैरी), Cucumbers (काकड़ी) and Peanuts Chikki.Once you reach at the top you will get lots of locals who cook and offer Pithala Bhakari, Baingan bharata, Onion Pakoda and Onion chutney, Curd, Buttermilk, Tea
After having our brunch we went to Tanaji Kada. This Tanaji Kada was named after commander Tanaji Malusare who was martyr after conquering the fort against Mugal Sardar Udaybhan Singh. You will get majestic view of the valley from this point.
Singhgad Fort was initially known as Kondhan. After martyr of Tanaji, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj renamed this fort as Singhgad in the memorial of Tanaji. (गड अला पण सिंह गेला)
