UMRI-TWIN VILLAGE OF INDIA You will be amazed if you hear that one place can be such , where u can find analogous faces every where and when one asked where it is then you will be more surprised . It is in our country -INDIA so it is called “Incredible India “ . In the Allahabad district , Mohammedpur Umri sits about 8 miles from the Allahabad Railway Station, at the edge of the Bamrauli Air Force Base Station, sandwiched on the northern end between the Air force Sports Complex and the Kendriya Vidyalaya .The village is a throwback to another era, dotted with mud wall and thatched roof kutcha huts. This village has been embarked with highest rate of twins in a village in our country. Out of 600 children born here 45 are twins and this is highest rate. Umri village is believed to be 250 year old village, and as if now there are 108 twins aged between 06 years to 80 years (data in news 18 dated 22 April 2014)and this seems to be in the miracle of the world , some village population says it is gift of god , some think it to be the power of their soil . .Many experts had came to this village some came from Hyderabad, when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was Prime Minister. They took samples of the soil in the village, water in the village and blood samples to research. But they are yet to find an answer. For any tourist coming to our country this is the perfect destination to be there so that they can see this village and make it popular as much as it can be. One thing I would like to share is that in this village people don’t have land to irrigate and they don’t have any work to do, the literacy rate is very low and it is hidden in the air force base camp. The village don't have basic amenities and the living condition of this village is poor. If more tourist flow will be there in the village it will lead to the development of the village. Anyone coming to see the triveni sangam or the city known as prayag then don't forget to visit the village which is closer to Allahabad railway station i.e. UMRI village and if one gets time during eid then go and enjoy the festivals with all the twins as 95% population comprises of Muslims. 'We believe these twins are a gift from God, and nothing else' -Village headman Netaji “there's something in the soil that produces so many identical” - Villager Abu Saad
