It was long back in year 2006, since I had visited the Great Singhad fort. I visited there as an immature and now the visit was different, the time was different.

Sinhgad (The Lion's Fort), is a fortress located roughly 30 kilometers southwest of the city of PuneIndia. Previously called Kondhana), the fort has been the site of many important battles, most notably theBattle of Sinhagad in 1671.

I and my two loved ones decided to visit the fort, since we had to eyewitness the sunrise. The weather forecast predicted the sunrise around 7:07 AM. Staring the journey around 5:00 AM I picked my friends and reached Singhad around 6:55, the drive was with filled with enthusiasm and joy. Fortunate enough the Sun was yet to show its shine.  Forecast prediction was good enough as we witnessed the rise of the morning with a glass of tea. The pleasing red view of the sun was spellbinding. All the efforts put in waking up early was worth, and having the finest buddies around is merely amazing. We took lot of snaps and decided to move near the Sun to get the best from Mother Nature. We reached a little hill top just beside the fort and decided to park ourselves and have a heart-to-heart conversation. The place was beautiful and we spent an amazing time there, as we could see the valleys, water, mountains. I like photography, and already had two buddies with me for a collection. We were at a place with no one around us, no city honking, no speakers screeching there was only silence and peace. We had the best dialogues with the morning sunshine and took some time to relax and relish. Time passed by quickly too realize that we were there since three hours. Taking a stop at one of the small eatery on the fort, we filled our hungry tummies. Do try Pithla, Bhakri and fresh curd they are the best at Singhad. The sight from the eatery was amazing and breathtaking, valleys around and fresh air to breath. After having some mouth-watering Poha, Onion Pokade, Chas, Lime water and yummy fresh curd we decided to move back. On the way we took a pause at Khadakwasla dam for a cup of tea before departing.

It was a short trip, however it was different.

Travelling with like-minded people is always nourishing and memorable.
