Nag Tibba Trek- Everest of First Timers

Nag Tibba peak is the highest peak of lower himalayas and anybody who inspire to be a trekker or who want to expirence trekking first time,its the first peak which is scalable.
First timers are recommended to take tour guides...most of which cost around 3-5thousand online.
There are no direct buses to Pantwari from where the trek starts.There are buses upto Nainbagh after which you need to take public jeep or van to reach Pantwari.Nearest point which is easily reachable is Mussorie.
This trek can be done in two days. It is advisable to reach Pantwari by 12 pm-1pm. There are few shops in Pantwari which provide you Hiking sticks and shoes on rent...some eatables can also be bought from here...I havent enquired but considering the number of houses in pantwari one can get accomodation here too.
This trek is most suitable to be done in winter..during which you will witness snow..especially during 25 dec- 15 jan...
So the trek starts from Pantwari.There are two ways one is the way for automobiles and another for trekkers.Few trekkers can skip the intial trekking of around 2.5 km if they want..by taking the autobile route.But for trekking can done right from start and the whole trek is around 4 kms to the first base camp which will be done to climb the mountain.The climb may not be much steep but challanging for few.
There are two shops from starting point to the first base camp which can provide water and some eatables.Still it is advisable to carry 2l of water with yourself.
After reaching base camp...you can rest.And have dinner and go to sleep under the stars.

It is advisable to start the treeking early in the morning..we started at 3:30.
Because if you start late then you will encounter melting snow which maker your ascend difficult and descend even more difficult.
Now this part of trek is steep comparatively the first part of trek. After trekking 3-4 kms you will reach the second base camp. You will not encounter snow till this base camp.
The trek to final base camp starts from here..and is around 1 to 2 kms...of steep climbing.The snow will make it more difficult not to mention even more enjoyable. Due to snow you may not be able to identify the trail..but just using your instincts use the path doable for you.You can make you own trail too.There may be many trails going up..but all meet on same path in the end.
After reaching the summit you will be defintly exhilarated.You will be welconed by breathtaking views of the greater himalayas and the mighty peaks of Nanda devi, bandarpuch,kalaanaag etc. The feeling of achievment after long hard work is just unexplainable. Spend as much time as you want and return..using some other way or the same trail if you like.
Our guide use to say ' Ek hi trail he sab'.
So just use your exticts and make your own path..yes you will slip...fall..may harm yourself a little..but they will be lessons too.
Some of the tips during descend are:
Use your heels ....put them first ...and dig them in snow for stability.
Use soft or fresh snow to descent rather than hard..because hard snow is more slippery.
Keep water with yourself.There is no water source from first base camp upto final summit.
Keep hope and strenght up.
And you will make it.
