Hi,
For Dalhousie and Khajiar, you can stay at Dalhousie itself and visit Khajjiar for the day. There is only one guest house in Khajjiar and people are not allowed to leave shelter after dark because wild animals visit the water hole....will share a very pretty Homestay that's immensely affordable for Dalhousie but it has 100 stairs... to reach up from the road. If you agree, will share. For Dharamshala, we stayed at HPTDC property and travelled to Mcleodganj daily so don't know any other. Thanks

You dont need to stay at all places just plan your trip for how much days and nights you want to spent and than organise your stays acoordingly,In dalhousie there is a shivalik hotel with varieties of room according to your choice of view and also is cheap and comfortable and near to the center. And i reccomend to eat in the sher e pubjab restaurant while you were there you can also visit khajjiar from the dalhousie it self.You don't need to stay at Khajjiar. And while visiting Mcleodganj you could stay at dharamshala. There are many places in Dharamshala to stay a according to your budget a good bargain I would give you cheaper hotels. When I was there we used underground basement of a hotel which is just by the CCD. And the food of rajendra Dhaba is great over there.
