I recently visited Pondicherry. Few tips: all hotels are fairly cheap this time around, you can stay at the bag packers' community which costs only 500 rs per room and the rooms are pretty good too. For traveling use a scooty which is Rs 400-600 per day. It is a very nice place. You can follow my writeup about the Pondi trip to plan for which places to go.
Hey Liji, you cant add dates and duration on a photo blog ... in a photo blog you can only add description about photo ... if you wanna add all stuff then you can only add the details in a trip blog ... and always draft a blog in web page and not on your mobile ... Hope this helps you !! Happy Blogging and Happy Travelling!!!

Hi, best and affordable way to reach pondicherry is by taking a bus. Plenty of state buses are there from CMBT bus terminus. It will cost you around 170-180 bucks only. You can also hire a taxi, but will cost you much more around 2000 rupees. Hope it helps you and do share your experience on Tripoto.
Pondicherry and Chennai are very well connected by the state run Bus services. There are plenty of buses plying between these two cities for the 4 hour long ride.

Just be careful with your shoes. Take some good trekking shoes with you. The is covered with layered solid ice in some regions & try to stay in Ukhimath only instead of staying in chopta directly.
