Depends on your preference, which side or which terrain you would want to explore. Usually people would plan for hilly areas to escape from heat. So Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Manali, Shimla, Mussorie, become the favourite tourist locations. However if you wont mind heat than you can visit places like Goa, Pondicherry, Kerala, Rajasthan where you can get luxury hotels at relatively cheaper price due to off season.

Best places to visit in summer are: 1. Spiti 2. Ladakh 3. Kashmir 4. Ziro 5. Valley of flowers 6. Manali 7. Keylong 8. Kasol 9. Meghalaya 10. Sikkim

Budget tips : 1) Stay at cheap places like zostels, hostels ( www.hostelworld.com ) and dharamshalas 2) Always take sharing vehicles that local uses in that area or take the lift 3) Don't eat at fancy restaurants. Try local cheap items 4) Don't do any unnecessary shopping 5) Always bargain for the rates Happy travelling!!!!!!

Its better to rent a car and drive around by yourself, I think that will be cost efficient.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
I don't think you can get paid for traveling but you can take jobs like volunteering or teaching English in other countries, to earn while you travel.

Yes you can travel solo to Hampi. you will get autos or car on rent which takes Rs800-1200 per day to take you to nearby places a day. You have to reach hospet railway station where you get lots of stays, restaurants and transport options. To know more, please visit my profile where I have made a 2days itinerary and will be happy to help you if you want any more infos. Do let me know about how you enjoyed in Hampi.

Just hire a moped and explore around..it’s one of the top preferred destinations to travel solo. Stay in a hostel which is a cost effective alternative and you’ll have other travellers for company.
