Budget stay like Hotel Pranav international you can choose hotel is short walk from gonikoppal bus stand ,buses are there from Madikeri bus stand to gonikoppal bus stand.
nearby places like IRPU FALLS,waynad wildlife,white water rafting or u can choose hotel kainka international
and yeah state run buses will be helpful if you little extra leisure time

There is no doubt in that December is the coldest month in Ladakh when the district is totally cut-off from rest of India by road.
Although you can see that the roads to Pangong Tso Lake and beautiful Nubra Valley over KhardungLa Pass and Chang La Pass are kept open all round the year, leaving few days of snowfall. The winters on the “roof of the world” can get intolerable. The temperature remains Maximum 2° C, Minimum -11° C during this time of the month.
Most of the roads and the highways remain closed during this time. Ice sheets thick as six inches can be found on lakes and waterways. You will see very less tourist during this time as they do not prefer to travel during winters.
But you can enjoy the Losar and Golden Namchot Festivals are held amid this month. Also, you get a chance to see and learn about the cultural side of Ladakh while you are here during this month.

AnswerWishlistYou have to go via Shimla because road via Manali closes in winters due to snowfall.You may spot snow leopard during this time depending on your luck.

If you are going in winters,Go for chadartrek in leh.This will be a life time achievement for you.I am also planing for the next year..

The best options stay would be in leh palace road only ... it's safe and also within the city ... there are two hotels open all around the year even when it snows ... so check k for them. ... And commuting would be difficult to let know now only as closing roads by BRO is depending only on the snow fall in the surrounding areas .... But Pangong and nearby ladakh areas will be open even when it snows. ... The best way would be to take a flight form Delhi ... That's expensive. .. but a site shot to go and enjoy winter and cold and snow altogether in Ladakh .. Happy and safe Travelling Bro!!!

UpvoteCommentHey Anuja, This land of Ananta is a bich of beaches and temples in total ... Places to see in the city are :- 1. Sree padmnabhaswamy temple ... 2. Kovalam beach which is 16 Kms from the city ... 3. Shankmugham beach... This is very nearer to the trivandrum internationl airport... The best part is there is an Old coffee house right opposite to the beach from where you can enjoy the serene view ... best time is after 5 pm ... 4. Veli tourist Village ... Other quite far away Places are ... Varkala which s hardly 50 Kms from city centre .. Kanyakumari which is around 87 Kms from the centre of the city ... Happy Travelling !!!
