Hi Manas, average accommodation cost for three people is Rs. 2,100 per night. Food cost per person is about Rs. 300 for three meals a day. So, that comes out to be Rs. 1,000 per person per day. Add the cost of petrol based on your car mileage and number of miles you will travelling and you will get your approximate total cost per head per day. Multiply that by the number of days you going to spend in Meghalaya and you have total cost of the trip per head.

Day1: Pick up from Ghy Airport/railway station transfer to Shillong night stay at Homestay/Guesthouse. Before check in the stay visit Umiam Lake, Donbosco museum, Gulf Coast, Ward's Lake and drop to the stay.
Day2: After breakfast start to Shillong peak, Elephant fall, then proceed to Mawphlang village(Sacred grove forest) n heritage village, Laitmawsiang village (Garden of caves), Wahkaba fall and proceed to Cherrapunjee for overnight at Homestay/Guesthouse.

Day8: Shillong to Mawlynngod village sightseeing and stay.
Day9: After you finish packing your bags and everything proceed to Ghy airport/railway station Total cost: for 4pax 57600 including 9days Eco sport kuv/Swift Dzire/Similar (including fuel, driver's stay/food), 8nights stay with breakfast and toll gate

Hi Kamya, 1) If I get sick, I use the medicines I am carrying and if required go to see a Doctor. 2) Haven't slept in a tent yet. But hope the tent is in a complex with a bathroom. 3) In many places, you can find spiders so I guess you should try to overcome your fear of spiders? I know its easier said than done but a girl can only hope!

I am aspiring full-time traveller and I am working in MNC. I try to manage my travel during weekends, long weekends with gazetted holidays, taking paid leaves at times. It is so difficult. It is great as a passion and believe ke once you go to mountains, you belong to them. just book your first trip and further you can ask the organizations to employ you there as an instructor or some volunteer. I have tried that, I got to go on many trekks and I learned a lot of things from those expeditions before I started my professional life. Believe me, those were the best days of my life till date

I would say first use the skills you have and find a way to sell them online! Anything you can do to earn money remotely from your laptop will allow you to travel.

Hi Anantha. I'd say a minimal amount of money would be needed to do things like book flight tickets, though I do know people who have hitchhiked around the world with no money. Having said that I don't think you need to be rich to travel because it's possible to spend less on food and accommodation by staying with locals and even volunteering for free accommodation.

Hi, I make a schedule for myself everyday and make sure that I balance out my travel days with my rest days. If you have a remote job, then try and complete more work on one day, so you can explore more the next day.

It is important to make a schedule for yourself and work a little extra to earn you some extra days of rest n travel.
You could work on the weekends you are not travelling to compensate for the rest.
