As I stated in your other question you only need strong desire. How hard you desire for the thing is the only thing thats matter. Go out of your comfort zone bro. You will learn to live with it
It is great as a passion and believe ke once you go to mountains, you belong to them. just book your first trip and further you can ask the organizations to employ you there as an instructor or some volunteer. I have tried that, I got to go on many trekks and I learned a lot of things from those expeditions before I started my professional life. Believe me, those were the best days of my life till date
I would say first use the skills you have and find a way to sell them online! Anything you can do to earn money remotely from your laptop will allow you to travel.
Hi Anantha. I'd say a minimal amount of money would be needed to do things like book flight tickets, though I do know people who have hitchhiked around the world with no money. Having said that I don't think you need to be rich to travel because it's possible to spend less on food and accommodation by staying with locals and even volunteering for free accommodation.
Hi, I make a schedule for myself everyday and make sure that I balance out my travel days with my rest days. If you have a remote job, then try and complete more work on one day, so you can explore more the next day.
It is important to make a schedule for yourself and work a little extra to earn you some extra days of rest n travel.
You could work on the weekends you are not travelling to compensate for the rest.
I mainly use the Lightroom app that is a photo editor and also powerful camera app. In Lightroom, there are some presets where I can edit my pictures in just one click.
Hi Aarush! I actually hate travelling in groups because I like to do things by myself and meet people spontaneously. I don't like the idea of being bound to people, especially a group of people and having to deal with them the whole time. When I am by myself I have complete freedom and happiness.
I would say that travel is more of a lifestyle than a job. It can be a job, but it takes a long time to be able to create content and make money from it. Finding out what your marketable skills are and how you can find clients online, and then travelling at the same time, would be easier.
Well, to earn through travel, you need to be patience and very creative in your marketing skills. You'll only earn after a certain period, and when you publish your travelogues correct and at right places and with some creative content in it so that people gets inspired from seeing it and they follow you. You need to be a social media star so that products/brands/websites will contact you and then only you'll earn.
I would suggest that proper planning is essential if you are doing a solo trip. You should know where you are going and how you are doing to get there. Choose any place that is populated with travelers like Thailand or Indonesia. Solo travel is perfectly safe as long as proper planning and precautions are taken.
Hi. I recently did my first solo trip to UK and Ireland. And it went perfectly well. Heres what I did:
What to Keep in Mind>>
1. Plan it thoroughly - you must plan each and every aspect of it - even if you want to keep a day at leisure. Have that planned as well. Where are you going to stay, how are you going to get there - to the airport, then from airport to the hotel everything. Keep time for traveling in account always while giving days to your cities/city.
If your going to Europe or I think any where, booking the sight seeing in advance always helps save time. and also help in planning the day better. Study what you want to see and what NOT, basis you interest.
2. Carry enough cash - Although contactless cards work everywhere now, it is good to carry enough currency. and make sure you dont keep all the money you have together in one place. Distribute it. Always have your passport, and ID, hotel vouchers, tickets on your phone. Just in case.
3. Hotel selection - it always makes sense to stay at city centre.
4. Flights - if you have connecting flights, make sure you have enough lay over time. And keep in mind to check the through and through check in luggage and thus the weight (again if its international)
5. Basic essentials: apart from medicines, shades etc etc, keep in mind to carry all important numbers along. If they are in your phone its fine, but having it written is also good
Where should the first solo trip be?
It depends on what kind of a traveller have you been before and how much have you led or done a transit on your own.
If you have been doing this, any international destination closer to India will also be good like Dubai, Thailand, Malaysia, Srilanka, Bhutan.
If you are completely a new traveler, and are a little shaky in terms of confidence, within India is better. And, India has extremely beautiful places, without a doubt. Some suggestions on places that you can explore:
1. Kashmir
2. North East - Sikkim, Nagaland any place
3. Kerala
4. Daman and Diu
5. Rann of Kutch and Bhuj
6. Amritsar - Wagha Border
7. Mountains - Dharamshala, Binsar, Mukteshwar, Chakrata
8. Parks - Kanha, Jim Corbett, Gir
How safe is it?
Safety depends on two factors largely when it comes to travel, solo travel.
First and most important is your self. How alert are you. How easily you trust people and how adventurous you want to be. All this counts when it comes to your safety. It is completely in your hands. And by adventurous I mean stay away from things that seem fishy instead of becoming excited to explore it.
Secondly, its the place you are choosing. There are many places where law and order is not as much in place. Or where you may find yourself absolutely alone.
Safety is purely one's own responsibility, barring natural disasters.
Hope this helps. Have a fun time planning and doing the trip :)
Hi, I would suggest to first find a place where you can stay for cheap or even volunteer and stay for free. Try places in the mountains or in the South of India, where you can live with locals.
Go on shoestring budget trips. Take up volunteering jobs so that stay becomes free. Use couchsurfing. Travel to the cheaper destinations. Always use local transport.
I generally shortlist the stays that are closer to each other and book the best one on reaching the place. This approach is a little risky and cannot be done if travelling with family as sometimes it might not be available when u reach. Luckily I haven't had any hard luck.
I would suggest selecting a natural place like Himachal or even South India, where you can travel using cheap local transportation and stay in small villages.
Plan a solo trip to some under rated places in himachal or uttrakhand.
you can get good food and accommodation in cheap prices. may be then you will fain a confidence to travel solo
Hi. Generally I have a good intuition so I can sense whether someone is giving me a good vibe or not, if I feel even slightly uncomfortable talking to someone I just leave. I also make use of platforms like Couchsurfing to find accommodation where people are reviewed.
