Hi Nidhi,
This isn't much to see in Chennai. And also the climate is too harsh. I went to Chennai in April and trust me all I could remember is sweating. Pondicherry is a good choice. You have frequent buses from Chennai. You can get zoom car or ola outstation as well. I went to Pondicherry last August. There are places that you can actually visit and you will like it.
1. Aurobindo Ashram
2. Promenade beach
3. Paradise beach
4. Rock beach
5. Serenity Beach Also Pondicherry has a lot of good cafes. Try seeing the french hold of the place. If you are interested they offer good water sports too. DM in case of any further queries. :)
I just came back from Bali and during this trip I visited Kelingking beach also. 1st you have to take speedboat from Bali to Nusa Penida ( costs around 1500 INR, including transfer from Bali hotel to jetty). Then take a bike or car on Nusa Penida jetty for KelingKing beach. The Bike costs around 400-500 Rs and car around 2500-3000 Rs for full day. The roads are pretty bad and it's an adventure riding a bike there. I have filmed my entire trip and posting weekly videos on Youtube. If you are interested, you can follow me by clicking this link

The easiest way to explore the island is by scooter. They cost around 70,000 IDR per day, and can be hired directly from the harbour port. If you're on a private Nusa Penida tour then Kelingking Beach will usually be the first place your tour guide stops.
The safari operates from Oct to June and is closed for monsoon time.
The best time to visit is start of summer as there the visibilty increases, in winter due to high grasses and high bloom it gets difficult to spot tigers.
Also in summer the tigers can be found near water holes making it easy for guides to track them.
