Any Hill station like Ooty, Wayanad, Munnar are better choices from the South part of India, and when you ask from the North part, Mussorie, Nainital, Shimla are the best choice only if you are not expecting snow. You can drive the ghat road from Dehradun to Mussorie and enjoy the scenery. If you like valleys, Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh will be a great choice... other places like Coorg, Kodaikanal are some places people like to Visit during summer as the forest gives you some cool breezes

Hey Aravind, Best places to visit in summers are hill stations: 1) Kashmir ( Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg ). 5 Days budget itinerary of Kashmir : Day0: Arrive in Jammu and take a sharing jeep to Srinagar ( 10 hours- Rs 500). Or you can take a cab to Banihal ( Rs400 ) then from Banihal take a train to Srinagar ( 1.5 hours- Rs20) Day1: Local sightseeing of Srinagar - Dal Lake, Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, Betaab Valley and old Srinagar city. The distance of gardens is 15km from the main city Day2 : Srinagar-> Sonmarg-> Srinagar. Spend at least one night at Shikara houseboat in Dal lake of Srinagar Day3: Sringar-> Gulmarg ( 3hours - 56KM).Visit Tangmarg town on the way to Gulmarg. Do activities like Gondola cable car, Ski and horse ride in Gulmarg Day4: Gulmarg-> Pahalgam ( 5 hours - 150KM). Visit Saffron fields of Pampora, Awantipura ruins and Bijbehara village on the way to Pahalgam. There are loads of hill stations like shimla,manali,ooty,coorg,kasauli, etc or else you can also plan a trip to sikkim or Kashmir!!

For South India the options would be: 1) Coorg 2) Ooty 3) Kodaikanal 4) Munnar 5) Wayanad For North India options would be: 1) Shimla 2) Dehradun 3) Sikkim 4) Kashmir ( can visit the Tulip Garden during summer) 5) Dharamshala

Hi You can go to any hill station in summer: Shimla, Manali, Mussoorie, Nainital, Kufri, Kasauli, Kausani, Mcleodganj, Ooty, Coorg, Kashmir. You can also go to Kerela or Pondicherry.

Manali-Shimla has been one of the famous family destination. If you want to avoid crowd , you can visit Mcleodganj- Dharamsala . Also Kashmir can be a good option.

For family holidays in summer you can consider going to Uttarakhand - Nainital, Mussurie, rishikesh, ranikhet, Jim Corbett South India- ooty, koidaikanal Himachal Pradesh- Manali, shimla, dharmshala I won't suggest Kashmir due to safety reasons.
