STORY :

Who doesn’t know about Jaipur which is called PINK CITY. We (me and my husband) started our Journey early morning at 4:00 AM from Delhi and took flight from Delhi Airport at 7:00 AM which took us to the beautiful pink city at 8:00 AM morning. We booked a cab online before as we have just a day to cover the Jaipur. As we reached Jaipur Airport, our can driver was already waiting for us. We took our seat and head to the beautiful city. We took a stop to have some amazing Rajasthani breakfast and after that went for sightseeing. We went first Jail Mahal , then visited Amer fort , Haha Mahal, Jaipur Mall, city palace and some other beautiful places. We had our lunch in very royal way and back to the Jaipur Airport by 08:30 PM. By this way we planned our unforgettable trip.

HAWA MAHAL :

Also known as the Palace of the Winds, Hawa Mahal represents the delicate and mesmerising glory of Rajput architecture. A bee-hive shaped five-storey palace built around an intricate latticework, it has 953 windows designed to allow cool breeze to pass into the building (thus its name). We discovered that the views are best enjoyed from the 3rd storey cafe’s balcony across the road!

It was build by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. He was so impressed with the Khetri Mahal built by Maharaja Bhopal Singh in the town of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan that he embarked on constructing the Hawa Mahal that today stands as a remarkable gem of Rajput style of architecture. It was built as an extension of the Royal City Palace and leads to the zenana or women's chambers. One of the main reasons of constructing this beautiful mahal decorated with fine lattice windows and screened balconies was to facilitate the royal Rajput women, who otherwise followed the strict Purdah system and refrained from appearing in public, in getting a glimpse of the daily events, royal processions and festivals taking place on the streets. This way they could enjoy their sense of freedom while maintaining their customs.
