AnswerWishlistHi Shahid. No, notes of Rs. 500 and 2000 are not accepted in Bhutan as valid modes of payment. You will have to exchange the currency when you reach Bhutan.

Indian denomination below 500 are accepted everywhere. You may use ATM at nominal charges to withdraw cash.

Hi Rashmi , from Bangalore to Ooty you can either go by bus which will take 7-8 hours and 1500 per person for sleeper bus, fare might be high due to peak season timing. once you reach there you can opt for auto which will not cost more than 200 to find your hotel if you have book any. else you can ask them to take you to some good hotel near by. it's a small hill station so you can easily get things around. Travel package will be there for sight seeing.

It's good. if u dnt wanna drive ur own vehicle get it hired. Drivers in Bangalore r good n friendly and they could guide u abt ooty. when or before reaching ooty rent a cottage rather thn hotel.

Kalighat kali mandir, victoria both are near by u can go der..and near to that if u interested in shopping u can go to camac street vardaan market and metro plaza..the street food outside the market tastes yum..u can go to babughat to c the beauty of ganga and boat ride is also der. u can also go to dakshineswar kalimandir and belur math by steamer..the railway station is near to that..do try the street food like puchkas jhal muri,luchi aludum and sweet dishes also

Only advisable if you are travelling solo or group of guys.... else there is lot of nuisance around those rishikesh camps ...mainly budget camps..so be careful

No bus. u need to take bus or train upto border n from there u could get sharing taxi from there to enter into bhutan

You can find frequent buses running between Siliguri and Phuentsholing or Jaigaon. These bus services are operated by Royal Bhutan Government. From Phuentsholing, you can find taxis and buses to Thimpu. So, you can get a direct bus to Bhutan but have to change the bus after reaching there to reach other areas such as Thimpu.

In January, Dharamshala and Mcleodganj witnesses extremely cold weather. You might not find snow in the lower regions and Mcleodganj's mall road, but nearby areas like Triund trekking route will be packed with snow. You can visit monasteries such as Tsuglagkhang Complex Dalai Lama, Namgyal Monastery and His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Main Temple. During this time of the year, the crowd is pretty less, so you can enjoy off-season perks such as inexpensive hotels, cheap restaurants and taxis. Days are pleasant with the sun shining while the night tend to turn colder, so it is suggested to pack your jacket. In April, the hills turn lush green, and you can also head to some nearby trekking destinations such as Grahan, Kutla and Kalga. In fact, it's a good month to enjoy breathtaking views from Tosh and Malana. You can also ask from the locals if the route to Kheerganga is open. Probability is, by that time, the route gets cleared up and you can complete the trek.

from gorakhour the nepal border is app. 97 kms. you can find many buses to border.
UpvoteCommentHi Steven! If you want to reach Nepal by land, you will first need to take a train from Delhi to Gorakhpur. From Gorakhpur, take a local bus or jeep to the Nepalese border at Sunauli (Indian side). You will then have to walk to the border (10-15 mins). Once you have crossed, simply head to the Nepalese immigration office. Happy and Safe Travelling!

Hi!. i have been auli in 2018 jan and nainital to auli is nt possbl within a day. and munsiyari i dnt know.
UpvoteCommentHi Naresh! Nainital to Auli is a distance of roughly 450 km and takes approximately 13 hours to cover. The feasibility of travelling such a distance without a night halt is largely dependent on how comfortable you are driving and on the people you are travelling with. Munsiyari to Auli is a distance of approximately 600 km, and takes 20-22 hours to cover. This distance is not feasible to cover without a halt.

It will open from March...but may is the best time to go..and it's better to pre book as the bookings will be filled at the peak time

Hi Ajay! The peak time to visit Auli in the winters is second week Jan to first week March. In the winters, you can witness the Himalayas in their true glory. But you might want to take into account the weather in the next week. During the month of January, the temperature falls to -4 degrees Celsius while the maximum is 7 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the roads may get blocked due to heavy snowfall. These variables can change till next week so you might want to check again before you leave!
