Namma ooru Namma Bengaluru is what we call our beloved city. Ee sala cup namde is what we chant every time RCB comes to play. Pubs, hills and startups are all what makes this city buzzing. More than anything it is the people here who make it a wonderful place, the locals warm and spirited kannadigas and the people from various other cultures not only India but also rest of the world. Bengaluru is not just a city , but it’s a feeling.

People who come to Bengaluru fall in love with the weather which is like your storybook spring time throughout the year with showers of rain every other month. Its neither too hot nor too cold out here which makes the city very much livable. At the same locals have the hardest time adjusting to extreme hot weathers of place like Chennai, Ahmedabad Etc or extreme cold weather of Delhi or Jammu and Kashmir.

When in Bengaluru, dosa is a must have breakfast , every area has its own local dosa eatery but there are some famous centers which have been run for a very long time and serve the most delicious dosas , Ex – Umesh Dosa Point in seshadripuram, Vidyarthi bhavan in basavangudi, sidanna dosa in sampangi ram nagar. Umesh is famous for its crisp dosas and the use of pur nandini ghee over the dosa on the tavas which it doesn’t tend to hide from its customers. Vidyarthi bhavan is like a small 200 sqft room with limited tables and chairs but there’s always a line outside the restaurant and the waiters there carry atleast 15 dosa plates on top of each other at once. Sidanna dosa’s location is also small in size and serves only half masala dosa per serving but still thronged with crowds everyday. There’s so many people waiting to eat these famous dosa eateries, bringing the bill as soon as they see your plate being empty is a common practice across these restaurants.

Bengaluru has almost become synonymous with startups in India. Whether it is college going students or executives at an established company, startup ideas are brewing everywhere. There is a free and accepted culture of entrepreneurship amongst the Bengaluru crowd. Almost everyone who is opening an eatery nowdays thinks of how he would scale it across India, when should he/she get funding, seeks out charatered accountants to enter into the valuation game. Coffee houses and pubs are the go to spots for startup brainstorming amongst the locals. People are taking up jobs in the city in the hope of making their way into the startup world. Bengaluru is known for giving startup unicorns like flipkart, inmobi, Licious , vedantu, coinswitch by Kuber etc

Namma ooru also has nice weekend drives to the hills surrounding the city. Nandi hills is the most famous spot for families, couples and group of friends. A pleasant drive to the hills early morning or late evening to capture the sunrise or sunset. A bundle of cafes have set shop which lead the way to the hills and have become a popular hangout spot. The scenes are surreal when you reach the top of the hill as you would legit experience walking amongst the clouds before sunrise and see the clouds fade away as the sun rises a further more every minute. There are various other hills like skandagiri hills, makalidurga hills etc. The common thing across these hills is that you’ll find a temple atop almost every hill and some frantic stories if you speak with the locals around there.
