Hi! I am Savvy. I call myself a traveler and explorer from India. I have a corporate job and I use my salary to travel. In my relatives and known circle, I have been asked by young girls and boys from college, about being youtuber or Instagrammer professionally, like becoming a travel blogger or photographer or fashion blogger etc. Some of them wish to consider these as alternative than clearing entrance, cracking interviews and joining office. Or others, who wish to leave job and travel.

Well, so in this video I will share 5 points why you should not QUIT Job to travel. And if you are thinking a job is not important, listen to the five points I mention in this post.

Please note: It is completely my opinion and might vary from person to person

1. Finances

Managing finances is the biggest responsibility of adult life and it becomes slightly easier when there is monthly salary. It is not only for us, but for our families and near and dear ones also. In a way, it helps us choose a passion and work in our hobby.

2. Initial Investment

Let us take the example of travel blogging. For this, we need to buy a DSLR camera, a drone, a gopro camera and other gadgets like tripod, mike, bag and so many items. We need to pay for flight tickets, hotels, food etc. and trust me it is an expensive affair. So, again the salary is of great help there and we can plan our budget easily. It is same for fashion blogger or makeup blogger.

3. Freedom of itinerary

It is in continuation of my last point only. So, if it is a sponsored trip, let us say to Andamans or Goa or somewhere in Himachal Pradesh, or say some international destination in Europe, Dubai etc. they of course provide a very restricted itinerary. On the contrary, on our personal travel, we can plan as we wish. We can choose the places we wish to stay longer, the properties of our choice and content of our own preference. Of course, you need to pay for them and hence the salary.

We particularly love to stay in properties who show excellent hospitality, it need not to be expensive. If we find puppies in Goa or kids in Himachal, we would love to spend time with them. We like to try local food and explore places our way. If blogging becomes my bread and butter, I might reply more on sponsored trips and won’t get chance to do things I love while travelling. Nothing is free here.

4. Vacation feels always there

In life, everything becomes monotonous once it becomes a routine. The whole vacation feels much before reaching the travel destination bring equal joy and excitement. And then starts the actual vacation. That feeling won’t be there once that routine job is gone. I love to plan our vacation, the destination, places to explore, accommodations, dresses etc. and all these are part of my vacation feel and I love it.

5.Keeps you super busy and that’s not bad

This is my most important point and let me explain. We go to office, we go to gym, we travel, we create digital content and we spend time with families. All of these keep us super busy. Some days we really wish to experience the other side of the story where we won’t be working, we will have free time to travel and we will work as freelancers. But at this stage, we don’t complain being super busy. The mind is never idle. Even when we have ‘bad days’ of our lives, the job and the busy life help to keep away the negative thoughts.

So those are my 5 points re-think before you plan to quit job to travel.

But before ending this post, I have to mention 3 most crucial points which we miss out as we have a job and have a quest to travel the world.

1.Time limitations.

The world is beautiful, and it feels we have so much less time to explore. Some destinations are so beautiful, it feels like staying forever, but we have limited vacation days while doing a job. It doesn’t feel good at all to come back so soon.

2. If you don't make it big, the struggle might be real hard

If you are successful like many YouTubers, Instagrammers and digital content creators, then leaving job would be a great decision. Else, you will regret as the struggle might be real. So yes, we all need to take chances. Make sure you have thoroughly thought through before you decide to quit the job. Remember hard work and persistence are the key. If you quit job, make sure you give those to your new venture.

3. We can’t have it all in life.

For me, I don’t hate completely the corporate life. But to keep up with all the travel and digital content creation, we do miss opportunities and promotions in job, and we have made peace with it. So, with that I end this post. Let me know your feedback and suggestions in the comments section.
