Blade India, a helicopter service provider, has launched a new service for pilgrims who want to visit Tirupati, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in India. The service allows devotees to fly from Bangalore or Chennai to Tirupati and back on the same day, saving them time and hassle.
The service costs Rs 19,900 per person for a round trip, which includes VIP darshan tickets, prasadam, and ground transportation. The flight duration is about 45 minutes each way, compared to four hours by road. Blade India claims that it is the first company to offer such a service in India.
Blade India also announced its expansion plans for the coming months. It plans to launch new routes from Mumbai to Shirdi, Nashik, Pune, and Lonavala, as well as from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur, and Chandigarh. It also aims to increase its fleet size from six to 12 helicopters by the end of the year.
Blade India is a joint venture between Blade US, a leading urban air mobility platform, and Hunch Ventures, an investment firm. It started operations in India in 2019 and has flown over 15,000 passengers so far. It offers charter flights as well as shared flights for leisure and business travelers. It also partners with luxury hotels and resorts to provide exclusive experiences for its customers.
