Muzhappilangad Beach Reviews

We scooted from St. Angelo Fort to Muzhuppilangadi Beach at 5:00 p.m. All I had heard about Muzhippilangadi beach was that it's a drive-in beach in Kerala. It was my first experience at a drive-in beach, so I had no idea about it. I was left speechless when I saw the tremendous beach. Riding the bike through the beach, splashing water, and enjoying the view of the deep blue sea were delightful experiences. The beach was crowded. We stopped the bike, opened our hearts and ears, and listened to the waves crashing against a nearby rock. Walking on the beach and feeling the sand beneath my feet was a heartwarming experience. I didn't run into the water, but the waves touched and washed my feet. This beach turned out to be the highlight of my trip, and I have no words to express my delightful experience.
We rested after having lunch and set out for the drive-in beach at around 5pm. The beach has a long shore of about 4kms with tightly packed sand and vehicles can easily ply on this stretch. At a few places on the shore, the width is about 500 meters. There is a sign board telling visitors not to drive in sea for two reasons - one for the safety of people and another so as to avoid corrosion of vehicle parts which comes in contact with the salt water. As is common in India, people chose to ignore the warning and went ahead with their vehicles in the sea. The beach is very clean and well maintained. Cool breeze blowing into us and the fact that we were driving a few meters off the beach got us very excited. This was a first time experience and a wonderful memory.
The beach is pretty clean and secluded . After a lot of photo shoots and water fun we came back to our room, took shower had amazing meal (especially for Non vegetarians) with unending gossip in such cozy dining area. Later in evening we headed to Drive-in Beach - Muzhappilangad Beach. Yes, you got that right, you can ride your own vehicle drive along the shore . It's an experience that you'll cherish for life long. There are also small moving shops for eateries. Deep Ocean, Wide Horizon, Breathtaking sunset , Ice cream in hand , sandy legs and amazing company - what else you need? Life is Sorted!
We reached Muzhapilangad beach around 5 PM , had a round of marine drive in our cab and began to walk alongside the beach as the soil here is too different and comfortable for walk. This place too gave us a beautiful sun set treat. But if you want to enjoy this marine drive to the fullest , you need to have your own vehicle so that you get to drive over the water and watch it splash around. With rental cabs, you don’t get to experience this:(
Evening was reserved for the only drive in beach of South, the Muzhappilangad Beach. As expected beach was crowded enough, we had a nice walk munching some mouthwatering savories and did a ride too, yay!! much waited one. Always wanted to do this as in movies and was happy for the accomplishment. An evening in beach and Dharmadam island was well spend.
