Bogmalo, Morjim, Vagator, Arambol, Querim. 5 beaches. 170 km. 1 day.

Day 1

Road trips are boring, unless you keep experimenting new stuff, keep breaking your own records, which is exactly what we did. After a jog to Bogmalo beach from our college campus, BITS Pilani in Dabolim, normal people would've gotten exhausted and headed back. We weren't normal that day. Never mind the tiring jog of over 14 km, early, we were ready to go on a roadtrip to the north. We went to Vasco, rented a scooty and were off on a road trip. We hadn't decided anything about the journey. We hadn't decided the destination, we just started off for North Goa, for as far as we could go.

Fish Pedicure at Mall de Goa. Totally worth Rs 100.

Vagator beach

We first went to Vagator stopping on the way at Mall de Goa for some snacks. We found vagator to be a beautiful beach, despite the rocky appearance which some people find ugly. We had maize(or bhutta) over there, (a must-try). Chapora Fort is a short distance from Vagator, which I've covered in a separate post here.

Then we headed to Morjim beach. We had heard you can see turtles at Morjim beach, but that day, none could be seen. There were no beach shacks as well. Probably due to the off season.

Arambol beach

Moving northwards, we headed to Arambol, arguably the best of the five. Arambol is a perfect Goan beach, full of activity. There are kids playing volleyball, foreigners (or hippies?) sunbathing in their beach chairs, some are playing a guitar etc. The restaurants are playing music. Cottages are also built on the beach.

From there on, we moved to the northernmost beach of Goa, Querim beach. Goa and Maharashtra are separated by a river near here. This beach was more of a dumping ground for old boats, as we couldn't find anything apart from that over here. From there, we cam back to campus after a tiring yet, exhilarating road trip.
