How to reach Chanderi?
By Flight:
The nearest major airport to Chanderi is the Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal, which is approximately 230 kilometers away. From the airport, you can opt for a taxi or a bus to reach Chanderi. Another option is the Gwalior Airport, which is around 240 kilometers from Chanderi. Depending on your starting point, you might find it convenient to fly to one of these airports and then proceed by road.
By Train:
Lalitpur is the nearest major railhead to Chanderi, located approximately 40 kilometers from the historical town. Shatabdi Express is the best train from Bhopal/ Delhi that stops at Lalitpur. You can find a taxi or bus from here to Chanderi.
By Road:
Chanderi is well-connected by roads, and you can easily reach the town by bus or car from Jhansi and Lalitpur. If you are on a tight budget, you can get a bus from Lalitpur bus stand. These buses run every hour until 6 pm and a one-way ticket costs Rs 60.
Where to Stay in Chanderi?
Madhya Pradesh Tourism's Kila Kothi is right at the entrance of Chanderi Fort and provides a bird's eye view of the town.
