There weren't a lot of tourists around. We garnered a fair bit of attention. I photographed random men. I asked some women if I could take their picture but they said no. Oh, and our Tunisian tourism guru Sonia and I met a chameleon. Yes, for real. Sonia was pretty dubious. I was pretty excited. I tried on a magic dress (a piece of material you wrap around you to form a onesie-meets-maxi dress sort of garment) and the man who owned the shop (and the chameleon, and some turtles) tried to buy me for camels. Sonia told him a price and he said he couldn’t afford it. Too bad, I’m rather fond of animal lovers.
