Weekend Getaways from Moab
Day 9: Moab, UT — A 3 hour smooth ride south-east from Salt Lake City will get you to a place which lies atop a salt bed, believe it or not, which was the result of a sea evaporating over which sandstone was deposited giving it’s famous rusty red color. The beautiful Arches National Park. I don’t know if it sounds strange but US-191 is actually built on Moab Fault. ON a tectonic fault! I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like that!

Poison Spider Bicycles
This shop is hopping with locals and tourists alike. All hands always on deck to help you decide which two wheels are best for you, pump up your tires, or patch a flat. If you've got your own gear but need help route-finding, you can bet that the guys at Poison Spider have ridden it.
Sometimes you just wanna go downhill. Sometimes the top is too far away to get to in a day. That's when you call the guys at Coyote Shuttle. Use them to ride the Whole Enchilada, one of the most iconic mountain bike rides in the West. They'll take you up into the Aspen-laced LaSals and pick you up at the desert floor.
Love Muffin Cafe
Even if you are camping while in Moab, you must come to the Love Muffin for one breakfast or lunch. The line out the door is merely a testament to the excellence of the food and beauty of the coffee. I stuck a Vesuvio in my pack for an epic day on the Mag 7 trails and my electrolyte balance was restored by the salty goodness of the turkey and salami and the sweet honey mustard. Camp coffee is good, but lattes from the 'Muff are better.
