Rishikesh is famous for a lot of adventurous activities like river rafting, Bungee jumping and river ziplining. While rafting can be booked by consulting your hotel/camp, one has to visit 'Jumping Heights' for Bungee jumping. As per I know jumping is closed on tuesday so plan accordingly. Other than these you can also visit temples there and go through the famous Laxman Jhula.Got an experience to share at Rishikesh? Do comment as I would be glad to here about it.
we reached the Jumping point after an adventurous road trip from booking office through narrow roads of mountains. As there was long wait for Bungee Jumping, meanwhile we booked slot for Flying Fox on spot as we got few slots available luckily.
I started my scooter, drive through the same road that I had travelled earlier but this time I took the right path and reached Bungee Point-Jumpin Heights on time. After formalities I was sent to that cantilever bridge from which the jump is performed. There was a guy who tied me with the ropes and ask me "darr lag raha hai.." I shook my head and says No. But he told me thatthis jump is all about the overcoming of yours from your fear. If you a fearing that is the right thing....Now everything gets prepared, I can easily see how high the bridge is... He counts 3..2..1...GO....I jumped and after a fraction of seconds I realised I actually jumped and I am upside down. I shouted in joy and happiness and I wanted to show so that everyone can hear me, and I am shouting because I had done it..

1. Jumping Heights
After being drenched in waters we got ready and bid goodbye to our cottage and the owner. It was already noon and we headed to explore and indulge into the new attraction of Rishikesh -Jumping Heights.Offering adventure and fun, we all decided to take up for Flying Fox. Picture yourself being harnessed to a rope and released by gravity to roll down the wire upto 7 mtrs above the river level and then going up, finally returning & settling down at the lowest point. In all the excitement, releasing ourselves hanging in the air- to and fro from one mountain to the other- gave us adrenaline rush.Holding our certificates proudly in our hands for completing the flying fox, we jumped in glee and headed towards our hotel.
Our next stop was Jumpin heights, now this is where you are suppose to be to get that adrenaline rush. Like the tagline of Jumpin Heights says “I’ve Got Guts!!”Well you definitely need guts to jump from a bridge at a height of 83mts. Our first activity was Bungee jumping. Walked all the way to the yellow bridge with just one thought in my mind “Am I crazy enough to do this?” and then I said to myself “HELL YEAH !! LET’S DO THIS”.
Next day we went on to experience one of the most adventurous activities of our lifetime, “The Bungee Jump”. After the 1 hour drive from the city, we reached the site, Jumpin Heights. After the documentation procedure and the safety briefing, we went on to the bridge. I'll tell you my part of the story, untill this moment I was very calm and relaxed. I felt there is nothing to worry, it is just another activity which has to be completed. So I went on the bridge, harnessed myself, asked Pooja and Bandi to jump first, cheered them.. untill this point no issue. no problem at all. But when the moment came when I had to actually walk to the edge and lean over the bridge, My God, I lost it. I don't know how to say, but I had no control over myself. One can see the mountains, one can see the valleys, but dare not see the ground, which is 83m below. There were goosebumps all over my body, I became blank for a moment, the instructor was giving instructions on how to jump, etc but I was not able to even able to focus. "You should keep your feet together, knees should not bend, etc".. but I was not even able to absorb it. The moment came in, the instructor asked me to jump on the count of 3, and there it was "3… 2…. Bungggeeee" lol.. I was not able to jump. Pooja and Bandi kept on encouraging me for the jump, but I was not getting the pulse of it. I calmed myself down, closed my eyes, took deep breaths, leaned forward one more time, just allowed my body for a free fall..... and done that was it.Somehow I managed to jump. The freefall was amazing, you go down, then get pulled up due to elasticity, again down again up for few iterations. Though this activity is for a short duration of time, but standing on the edge to prepare oneself seems ages. That moment is fresh even today.
We did bungee jumping - 83m height. It's a 4-5 seconds fall, but an exhilarating experience.
All facilities are available including foods n drinks. You can also watch your videos doing bungee n flying fox and can also watch others doing that live.
You got the guts ?if yes this is the perfect place for you This is the perfect destination For the people who wants to experience something different and wants to know what it means to be alive . Me and my friend made the decision to overcome our fear and decided to do it finally. it took only 5 seconds to realize how it feels like to be alive . I was so scared when i looked down but jumped after taking a long breathe and in no time i was flying like a bird I didn't speak for 1 hour after i jumped from 83 meter tower knowing i may or may not be alive :) I cant explain much but once you go and experience it ,you will understand me better You really need the guts, i mean it :)
