Shilpgram is a cultural museum located in the heart of Udaipur. For those who love handicraft, this is the ultimate place to head to. You can see a variety of crafts and craftsmanship here. The place also holds an annual fest in December every year which is the best time to check their varied collection. Along with this, you can also find a lot of detailed work about the Rajputana clan. The traditional items are preserved well so that even the future generations can take a peek in the history of the place. The museum is well-maintained and also organizes dances at regular intervals.

Then I moved towards my next attraction which was Shilpgram, A rural arts and crafts complex surrounded by Aravali mountains. You will get to see the lifestyle of tribal people of Rajasthan, Rajasthani dance which they do with different kinds of props, shopping market where you can get traditional jewellery, clothes, arts and crafts decoration items etc..

Shilpgram offers you something that you might go looking for when you visit Rajasthan- Tradition. The place has this rustic village feel to it. Acts such as pottery, snake charming, Kathputli(Puppet) dance, traditional Rajasthani dance keep the place alive. You won't be short of traditional food choices that is for sure.

The sight of kids playing in the water , and the birds chirping their own sweet song had relaxed my soul and I ignited my engines to go to Shilpigram a small village around 10kms from there with undulated terrain and surrounded by Aravali mountains . A place famous for rural arts and crafts , and more so for the peace and tranquility that transcended from the lake hidden amidst the cliffs and hills . I could sit there for hours just staring at the water forming ripples and foams and gushing in and hitting the rocks beneath my legs . Perhaps that was the only sound I could hear at the isolated place , I could hear nature speak for the first time . Rightly so , look deep into the nature and you will understand everything better . That is a must visit spot if you plan for Udaipur .
Situated 7 km west of Udaipur near Lake Fateh Sagar is the Centre's Shilpgram - the Rural Arts and Crafts Complex.WHERE TO STAYI will recommend you, please book your hotel in Old city near Lake Pichola.
