Kalka Tourism and Travel Guide

Kalka in Haryana's Panchkula district gets its name from Goddess Kali, and is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. During the festival of Navratri, the Kali Mata Temple here is visited by hundreds and thousands of devotees. This temple was assumed to be made by the Pandavas in their time. The Shri Balaji Temple is another popular temple here. Besides the temples, Pinjore Garden is a tourist attraction here. Popularly known as Yadvinder Garden, this place is also a great picnic spot. It especially sees a lot of visitors during the annual Mango Mela, where 500 varieties of mangoes are displayed. Located at about 26km from Chandigarh, Kalka can also be reached easily from Ambala, Patiala, Shimla, Ludhiana and Delhi by direct buses.
