Mashobra Tourism and Travel Guide

Tucked in a quiet corner of the Shimla district is Mashobra. A quaint town with an old world charm. The sylvan scenes comprising oak, pine, Himalayan deodar and rhododendron are to die for. Tourists flock to Mashobra all round the year, and it is even the site for one of the two presidential retreats of India. The majestic Wildflower Hall at Chharabra can give you a taste of the colonial influence on Shimla. The conical roofs peek out of the dense pine cover against the backdrop of clouds and snow-clad peaks. This is probably one of the most spectacular and alluring views that this humble hilltop town has to offer. Then there is the Carignano, a picnic spot that was a villa of an Italian photographer, with its beautiful winding trails and flowery gardens. You can spend endless hours sitting on the stone benches and witnessing the divine surroundings. Club Mahindra and Marigold Sarovar Portico offer the cosiest stays and the most scenic views. The jungle oasis at the Seog Wildlife Sanctuary has preserved a diverse variety of flora and fauna. A gravelled road from the town will take you through unbelievable sights and adventures. The Sipi Fair can give you a little insight into the local culture honouring the Sip Devta. Archery competitions, folk dances and songs are a part of this fair. Mashobra has a calm and pristine air about it which makes it a very precious corridor on the historic Hindustan-Tibet Road.
