Malaysia is one of the famous Southeast Asian destination for trade and tourism. My first international vacation was to this magnificent country.
Malaysian Visa: Since this was a package tour, our tour agent had got us the stamped Malaysian Visa (1 year, multiple entries) at INR 4100 per person.
Flights: We had opted for Air Asia from Bangalore to Kuala Lumpur and from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi. There are various other flights like tiger air, Jet airways etc that fly to Kaula Lumpur on an everyday basis.
Accommodation: We chose our accommodation near the little India area as we found it convenient to visit the local attractions and also for the availability of the Indian food there.
Places to visit in and around Kaula Lumpur:
Genting Highlands: This is 45 minutes away from the KL city. Genting highlands are an integrated resort with casinos, theme parks, hotels perched on top of Gunung Ulu Kali Mountain. One can reach the resorts by the cable car. Genting cable car is the world’s fastest mono cable car. The view in the cable car is just awesome. We visited the snow world there and had a great time. Also, one can explore around and enjoy various entertainment opportunities the place has to offer.
Visit the Royal Palace and the Masjid Negara: Both the buildings are great architectural beauties and must visits in the KL city.
Visit the observatory deck of KL tower: You can have the bird’s eye view of the city from this 421 M high tower. We also had our lunch in an Indian restaurant. There are several shops selling souvenirs there. The entrance to the deck costs RM8 per person.
The Batu caves: These are the limestone caves comprising on 3 major caves and several small caves. This place is around 11 KMs away from the KL city. This is a 100-year-old temple and is considered as the important landmark by the Hindus. One has to climb a series of steps to reach the shrine. It was a really tiring journey but totally worth it.
Petronas Twin Tower Kuala Lumpur City Centre Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
The Petronus towers: This is the iconic landmark of the capital city. This is the world’s largest twin structures. It is an 88 storey building and looks magnificent. We could not visit the top of towers.

KL city gallery: Visit the KL city gallery to see the past, present and the future of the KL city. There is also an architectural model display of the developments going on in KL and is totally cool. There is also a café that serves yummy croissants and coffee.
National monument: this place is a tribute to the soldiers and people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the nation. It is the world's tallest bronze freestanding sculpture grouping. This place is quite peaceful and well maintained. This place offers an amazing view of the KL skyline.
Half a day tour to Putrajaya: Putrajaya is an amazing new city just 25 KM away from the KL city. I was totally mesmerized by this beautiful and well-planned city. We had a great time taking snaps, enjoying the parks and botanical gardens.
KL Bird Park: Spread over an area of 20 Acres, this is a must visit place if you are a bird lover. There are over 3000 species of birds here.
Shopping: There are various flea markets and shopping malls in KL. We visited a flea market in little India. We purchased souvenirs and scarfs, few tops from here at comparatively less price.
After visitng these places, we took a flight to Bangalore in the evening.
