I was on a official trip to Chennai and was looking for a nearby place to shoot then my friend suggested me to visit Mahabalipuram, a small town, just 56 KM from the city along the shore of Bay of Bengal. If you love to shoot architecture and historical places then this is one of the places to be in. Since we wanted to shoot under blue hour & golden hour, we started towards journey at 4:00 AM and reached there around 5:00 AM. The famous spots to be captured are Shore Temple, Panch Rath, Cave Temple & Krishna's Butter Ball ((also known as Vaan Irai Kal and Krishna's Gigantic Butterball) is a gigantic granite boulder resting on a short incline in the historical town of Mahabalipuram in India. The boulder is approximately 6 meters high and 5 meters wide and weighs around 250 tons. It stands on an approximately 1.2-meter (4 ft) base on a slope, and is said to have been at the same place for 1200 years.) All these sites are UNESCO World Heritage site. These architectures were as old as from Pallav Period in 7th century. It was fun shooting of 4 hours and we drove back around 10:00 AM. If you want to enjoy the sea beach and rest for the entire day, a lot of budget resorts are available.
