Gondal Tourism & Travel Guide

Gondal, a city in the Indian state of Gujarat, is located at a distance of about 60km from the city of Junagarh. The city is famous for its craft heritage and bird watching. The most popular place to visit in Gondal is the Naulakha Palace, which is a perfect example of exquisite stone carvings and stunning balconies or jharokhas with an authentic spiral staircase. There stands a huge chandelier lit hall that has antique mirrors and wooden furniture coated with gold paint. Visit the Orchard Palace, located in a huge complex of lawns, gardens and fruit orchards. It has a collection of antique furniture, brass and miniature paintings. If you are a die-hard fan of classic and vintage cars, then the Royal Garages in Gondal is a must visit. It has an extensive collection of vintage cars, including American cars from the 1940's and 50's. Gondal homes the Bhuvaneshwari Ayurvedic Pharmacy, which has herbal medicines as per the ancient principles. There is also a Swaminarayan Temple in the city that has an aura of devotion and beautiful wall murals of swamis who preached the faith.
