Road to Pamukkale

Pamukkule is very small place with very nice people. The Pamukkale Thermal Pools and Amphitheatre are really amazing . I had seen lots of photos of Thermal pool and was excited to take some amazing photos but i was really disappointed as the day i went the water was not in the center of the thermal pools but on the sides . This is usually done by the govt to protect the thermal pools.

Ancient Laodicea isn’t much of a city anymore, but unspoiled Roman ruins mark the countryside. Laodicea is located in the Lycus River Valley of western Asia Minor, near the influential, ancient cities of Hierapolis and Colossae. This valley was a primary trade route between the cultures of the West and East. Ancient Laodicea was also a primary hub for the Roman aqueduct system, which speaks to the picture of worthless 'lukewarm' water in John’s writing to the church there: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16)

About Pamukkale

Pamukkale, is Turkey's foremost mineral-bath spa because of its natural beauty: Hot calcium-laden waters spring from the earth and cascade over a cliff. As they cool they form dramatic travertines of hard, brilliantly white calcium that form pools. Named the Cotton Fortress, it has been a spa since the Romans built the spa city of Hierapolis around a sacred warm-water spring. The Antique Pool is still there, littered with marble columns from the Roman Temple of Apollo. You can swim in it for a fee. We opted for a one day tour from Bodrum but frankly it was way too crowded than what the pictures look like on the internet. Nevertheless, it is something which one shouldn't miss.
